Did not work June 2, 2010 Trevor D. Aaron I had high hopes for this product as I was hearing so much positive information from friends and family. When I tried it the water just ran through and gave no relief of any kind. I realize that was what was supposed to happen but, even blowing my nose after provided no positive change. After using a whole pot full of the pre-mixed solution I was no better than I was before. I would not waste your money on this product.
Not great, not terrible. Should be cheaper. May 24, 2010 J. Wilson (Eugene, OR) Cheapo small plastic teapot. Pretty overpriced for what it is, even with 50 tiny little premixed packets of salt & baking soda.
Works okay, but not fantastic. The plastic endpiece that goes in your nostril is not especially comfortable, getting it sealed so it goes through the sinuses and not all over the place is challenging, and you are likely to scratch your nostril a bit with the seam on the plastic.
Maybe I have oversized sinuses, but the 8oz size seems too small, both to have enough water to clear things out, as well as to create enough water pressure to get things flowing and clear out any blockages. It seems like if you have medium to heavy congestion, this thing doesn't really work. And if it can't clear congestion, then what's the use?
All in all it is better than nothing, when it manages to clear out your sinuses it's a great feeling, but if I had this to do over, I'd have gotten a different product. In searching for better instructions and demonstrations to try and get this thing to work as well as I felt it should (based on so many people raving about this thing changing their lives) I came upon different styles of nasal irrigation. I think now I'd go for the more squeeze bottle type, that you don't have to have your head and neck at a ridiculous angle, and since you squeeze, you create actual water pressure. Seems like one of those would be much more effective.
If this item had been under ten bucks I wouldn't regret the purchase. But it was, and I do.
One of the best products i've bought May 4, 2010 MadMomma (IN United States) I have horrible sinuse pressure and headaches not to mention bad post nasal drip, nothing helped me not even antihistimnes. I decided to try a neti pot on reccomendation from a friend, boy am I glad I did. It is so easy just put warm water in the pot add the solution and rinse out your nose as simple as that. I now rarely have headaches and the pressure and post nasel drip is almost completly gone. The pot is easy to use and clean. I do have problems with leakage around the lid but to me that is not an issue. I definatly recommend this to anyone with sinus issues.
I am liberated now... April 15, 2010 V. Shrivastava For long as I remember, I have been allergic to something unknown and that make me sneeze to its worst many times in a year.
I have tried every solution, but nothing seemed long lasting.... most of the medicines became ineffective the next season. I gave a whirl to this NetiPot and I can say I am liberated now....I think saline solution is indeed effective, but more effective is the simple explanation of Neti and the cleansing process that described in the brochure that comes with NetiSol.
I still sneeze a couple of times in a day but that is nothing compared to have 50-60 sneezes in an hour...ooouch.. but true...
and I know I have turned the tide.
Addressing the "cap" issue April 9, 2010 R. Jacobs (PA) I really like this product, I've been reading about how the cap doesn't fit. My cap fits just fine, it only takes a little bit of work to snap it on but it doesn't leak. I think it depends on the one you get--how that particular pot came off the mold. You'll probably get lucky and get one that works, so go for it!
It also says to stop if you feel it going into your ears....I don't know if it's bad if it does, but that happens to me a lot and I'm not fond of it.
